The method I was discussing earlier which Valve is using to combine tens of thousands of polys into a single poly is demonstrated in the video below. It is a very interesting technique and probably something we won't be able to use. If we can, though....

Our head 3D Designer has sent me a few more of his works-in-progress.

Now a few more future node sets and a previously posted one which has more detail added. These are all in various stages of development. The 2 large buildings still being at a low poly stage:

I look forward to working with the members that this team already has in place as well as having access to the resources that are being lined up for this enormous project.
Thanks to Eccentricity for the opportunity to join in such a project! 8)

Abstraction will be finished by the time heavy DSoR coding begins. In fact, I believe it is already very close to releasing.

Yes, but as DSII is not yet released and we have no DSII tools...yet...I see no reason why I can't make a commitment to DSoR. 8)

The biggest challenge we face is the summons. We will need an aerial camera view looking down toward the ground when flying creatures like Bahamut are summoned. One possible way to accomplish this might be by using in-game movies controlled by the new flick system. However, this could create issues in multiplayer as all clients within a certain "pre-determined" zone would need to see the effect as well. This is possible of course. In fact, it is childs play for a single summon. What happens, though, when two or more players cast simultaneous summons? Therein lies the rub of forcing anything on clients unless a system is in place to make everyone "wait their turn." That is something to be chewing on....

4 new additions to the official DSoR Suite!

Also, the team has a new weapons designer of some repute who wishes to remain anonymous for a time. Welcome to our newest team member. He will be designing a totally new set of weapons for DSoR and they will rock! That you can bet on!
